What is pH:
pH is the level of acidity or alkalinity of the water.
The letter "p" represents "potenz" (the potential to be)
The letter "H" represents Hydrogen.

pH is low:
High concentration of Hydrogen ions.  (acidic)

pH is high:
Low concentration of Hydrogen ions. (alkaline)

"pH" cannot be written as "PH" as this would mean a public house. If it were written as "Ph" it would mean philosophy. Therefore, it has to be written as "pH".

pH is measured on a range of 1 - 14, 1 being the most acidic and 14 the most alkaline.

Acids taste sour, and most are corrosive.

Alkalis taste bitter, feel soapy and are corrosive too.

A pH sensor can be used to measure the pH value of a substance.
